No Shame
Hey everyone I’m Jackie… Family is my world… They are the reason that I have chosen an alternative path during these unusual times. I have put my traditional career as a Welding Technologist on hold so I can be home available to them. Interesting that I call welding technologist as a traditional career because it is not traditional for women but let’s break that barrier and get as many people into careers they want. Regardless of stereotypes and preconceived old school fixed mindset thinking… Let go of the crap that doesn’t serve you. Do what’s best for you and your community. We only have one life to live, make it count. With that find something you love and try to make a living doing it. Color Street has provided me with another love for Independence and career… I am so grateful for this opportunity. It has filled a void that was missing inside from putting my traditional career on hold. It has given me the community that I was lacking. It is something that I will not lose when I go back to my traditional career… I’m committed to this journey and thankful for it… Is it easy…. Honestly I have been struggling with postpartum depression mixed in with covid isolated depression on top of all of the things that come with being a mom of three who struggle with their own things (kids 17, 9,2), a wife, a daughter, community member, friend, role model… All the hats… How do you support when you’re struggling in the background??? Honestly, you smile through the pain and you’re there for people… And you just make it through some days… A lot of the times helping others is an amazing distraction. But that doesn’t fill your own cup… So…. One thing I’ve learned over my 36 years is to do what you love today. Not tomorrow, not when you reach a particular goal, today… It’s not about waiting for the perfect time or opportunity…. It’s about living and enjoying… You like it??? I have let may things go that came into my life over the last few years. Choices for me, to work on me. I have chosen to use the Color Street product but not continue to sell.
