Introducing Arya

#UnderTheStarsForArya

Last week I touched on Child Cancer Awareness Month, with an emphasis on exercising your right to vote. For you to use your voice to vote for the voiceless. Such as the numbers of children who are battling cancers with out of date techniques. Why, because child cancer research is drastically underfunded.

So much so, that treatments that a child receives today in some cases is the same treatment that a child experienced decades ago. (Similar word from one of Petra posts that rings in the ears.)

Have a read through the article affiliated with last week’s post here… https://jemsmind.com/voice-for/

Today September 20th 2021 I stress again, get out and use your voice, your vote matters…

While you are out voting, swing by your local McDonald’s and make a contribution to the Ronald McDonald House who helps support and keep families together during times of adversity.

Also, make it out on September 22nd as a portion of the proceeds from the sale of all items on the menu will be going towards Ronald McDonald House programs….

Or directly get involved

……………………………………………………

So some stuff happened today, among other things I had some technical difficulties. Which ended up with a brand new computer… Pushing my post later than expected. With that, I just want to say thank you to everyone who went out and cast their ballot for who they believe in. No comment on the results so far, my push was just to encourage people to get out and raise their voice.

With all that said, today what I really want to do, is take some time to introduce my inspiration for these recent posts. Now, there were a sequence of events that I perceived as signs to induce this inspiration. But, there’s one constant that ties all of these events together for me. It is the light of a beautiful little girl. A person whose energy embraces life to the fullest even through the darkest of adversity.

The light, love and inspiration I feel for a person I never met, truly embraces my belief in energy. An energy that helps me feel more present and helps me strive for more.

The name of the beautiful light I speak of is, Arya.

Before diving deeper into my perspective, here is a link to her best friend’s ride to support Childhood Cancer Research…

https://greatcyclechallenge.ca/Riders/LilahBombard

Arya, Lilah and many more need our help to make change for kids with cancer. Together even the smallest contributions is another drop in the bucket towards the goal.

The same goal that Terry Fox stood for

The goal that we should all be standing together for…

Finding the path to ending childhood cancers through research.

So please when you make that stop at McDonald’s, what’s an extra $2? Might seem small to you, but together, it makes an impact. It helps support the families pushing for clinical trials that are the trail blazing group of warriors fighting to live. These little humans are contributing the ultimate price. Let’s embrace them, they deserve far more than the couple bucks that many are not willing to contribute.

Or

Ride like Lilah, in support of a loved one.

Or

Become a monthly donor.

Or

Advocate…

There are many options out there, and I know this is not the only cause that needs support.

But our future deserves more support… More than what we are giving… Possibly for the reason outlined in the article below. https://www.cnn.com/2021/09/07/health/childhood-brain-cancer-wellness/index.html

So, let’s be the voice for the voiceless…

Let me put it this way, supporting now may very well save your child, niece, nephew, grandchild, friend, (loved ones name here)…

In the future…

…………………………………………………

I never personally knew Arya, but I follow her journey through the amazing tool of the internet. I was originally connected to her through knowing her mother, Petra. As youths, we both enjoyed the bliss of horses and time at the barn. I always looked up to Petra and her sister. I was always in awe of their skill and ability with the animals. We were only connected for a short time through the farm. But over the years, we would occasionally bump into each other through social circles. Yet, what ultimately has kept us connected is Facebook.

For years now I’ve had the pleasure of watching Arya’s contagious light. All through Petra’s words and photos. A fearless little go-getter. Blazing a path through the life she was given. Embracing every good moment with a giant smile and a twinkle in her eyes. While, bravely facing a medical journey, that no one should have to battle.

Arya
Your energy,
Will always be
An inspiration to me.
Your strength.
Your power.
Your fearless adventure superpower.
All part of your beautiful little heart.
Shining light through the dark.
From the start you were meant to be apart,
Of a team of warriors who will never let you truly part.
Your mama, papa and three brothers too,
Traveling to many places between life’s stew.
Together embracing,
All the adversity you were facing.
Celebrating all that is you.
The Amazing Warrior,
I never knew.

I will never be able to find the words to truly encapsulate Arya’s Journey. However, Petra has created this amazing Legacy blog following the story of her beautiful daughter. I welcome you to read her story, find inspiration, and share the beautiful light of Arya.

P.S.

This past weekend we spent a night under the stars on a farm. Two of the signs that made me think of Arya. For some of her adventures you can read about on her website, is her 50 nights under the stars in a tent. If you ever find yourself staring at the heavens on a camping adventure and find yourself thinking of Arya or another loved one shining upon you. Please share by #ing

Sending light, love and elephant hugs to you and your family.
